This heatshield was meant to protect the fuelpump from the warm air coming
from the radiator. This was supposed to help the fuelpump operation, so that
the fuelpump wouldn't develop a high noise during operation. Is there any
truth in this??? >>
Yes, apparently the heat shield for the fuel pump has value. I installed one
about thirteen years ago and have had no problems or noise from the fuel
pump. The heatshield in question is a piece of rubber (like an inner tube)
that you attach with screws to direct the warm air flowing out of the
radiator down away from the gas tank.
