My stock D have an unusual symptom recently. It would hunt the idle
speed until the car warmed up. 

This weekend the RPM relayed died and the car had to be towed home.

I had a spare relay and the car is just fine now. The idle speed at
start up is also steady.

This idle speed hunting appears to have been an early warning sign of
emmint RPM relay failure. 

Just thought the list members would like to know.
