Marc & Lee, Shortly after the DeLorean hit the streets the infamous "plastic clutch line" problems started popping up all over the country. In an effort to correct the problem an adjustable clutch pedal link was manufactured and supplied to dealers for replacement. (Service Bulletin No. ST-07-9/82). The problem was that in order to compensate for the loss of pedal action the link could be easily over adjusted this caused the master cylinder plunger to travel too far in the bore causing premature failure of the master cylinder. The adjustable link should only be considered as temporary, replacing the factory plastic line with the stainless braided is the only way to go.
