Brent has a very nice car, but I think you misunderstand what his louvers are.
they look to be the standard fiberglass louvers with stainless glued on to it. This is not the complete stainless louver that the outfit in Europe is selling.

I've had my cold start valve wired to my full throttle enrichment switch
ever since I ran a turbo charger which has since been removed. It does dump
a considerable amount of fuel ( enough to kill a idling engine if the switch
is activated ) but the distribution is uneven and all cylinders don't get
the same mix of fuel. I really haven't noticed any performance gain with the
exception of taking an extra gallon of fuel at fill ups when running with
other Deloreans. The only reason I did this with the turbo was an attempt to
cool the combustion temperature and it really didn't help that much. Also,
it's a bad idea if you're still using a catalytic converter as the extra
fuel will cause high temps in the converter. I really need to restore the
cold start circuit to it's original configuration now that I don't have a
turbo and I'd advise you not to waste the time trying it.

Ever think to see if they did that to a left door also? Would be great
if they did, then you could use the fiberglass shell you have and that frame
to make the true "last" delorean and throw those doors on it.

There are several muffler brackets, and at least one is prone to failure.
Newer style ones are available to correct this. Don't know if this applies
to all of them, or just one. I replaced all mine when I replaced the muffler
shield.

Shannon, please be careful. There is tremendous
energy stored in those SPRINGS. (Could be like a half
an inch-pound.) One slip of the tweezers and you
could risk cracking the rear window (or breaking a
nail). I'd recommend taking it to an authorized
Delorean Model Service Center.

I think I already know the answer to this but I thought I would throw
it out there...My steering rack was replaced with a rebuild from
Grady and it steers perfectly. The only problem I have is the
steering column itself moves. The culprit is that little black
bushing that goes in the hole where the column exits the car....
I know the solution is a $20 part but I hear horror stories of
pulling the sterring wheel and messing it up or not getting the wheel
back in correctly....Has anyone thought of a way to make a 2 piece
bushing or some other clever way to put a new bushing in without
removing the column???
I think if this could be done you would have a alot of happy D owners
with great steering....

Aha! A little light on the subject! Thank you. I looked into this a while
back and was told that they are out there, but most are black powder coated.
Why someone would do that is beyond me. What I was looking for at the time
was the possibility of the brushed SS look over the whole car. Does gluing
the SS over the existing louvers make them lighter than solid SS? Is it
done well? Much thanks to Brent and Marc for the enlightenment.

Subject: A few quick questions
My new "to me" DeLorean is a 1981 auto which seems perfect in nearly
all its ways but I do have a few questions about two minor issues.
First off the car did sit for most of its time garaged only to be
driven once a week @ best so I believe this may be an issue that goes
away with time but the car shakes a bit at idle and high
speeds "engine mounts I bet." The second issue is the mechanical
aspect of my trans shifter.... in short I can shift from park to
drive and back to reverse with out taping the break. It shifts fine
and I can fix anything electrical "in short no issue there trust me."
it just kinda scary to think that I could be driving hit the shifter
with my hand and have it go to neutral or worse reverse.
