Hello everyone,
Looking through a couple of weeks worth of postings made me curious:
most of you seem to come from the US, but who doesn't?

If the fuel pump looses power and the car bucks, a bad connection at the fuse, A defective RPM relay, or the Inertia switch could be breaking ground or loosing connection. But, If the pump is running and your able to drive the car, then the power loss is more than likley in the tune up or in the fuel distribution. A very common problem is the warm up regulator, they are getting 20years old. When was the last tune up.

Shain, I have never done what your doing, this would take some studing out on my part and right now I don't have the time. What are you trying to accomplish.?????
Your not going to get around low voltage at idle unless everything is turned off and the pulley is spinning faster to generate voltage and current.

Chapter 17 of Iacocca's autobiography notes that, in 1979;
"DeLorean, who had started his own automobile company after leaving General
Motors, came to see me about the possibility of merging his company into
Chrysler."
Of course, that never happened. But Lido then notes that JZD wanted him to
consider an R&D tax shelter, and had even prepared a "...huge study for me that
cost him something like fifty or sixty thousand dollars."

After 9 month of owning my car today I took her to work for her first run
out in the 'wild' legally, taxed and MOT'd and didn't that feel just great!!
I ran the car to work 20miles, no problems there she sat for 5 hours. I then
had to go to another stop 30 miles away, again no problems, about 20 min
after parking I took some people out to see her, and to my horror she was
dripping underneath (coolant) this progressively got worse until it was a
steady stream, eventually stopping when there was none left.
Any Ideas....... Phantom leak???

Velcro fuzzy strips should work ok. But the problem isn't with the
strips. It's the glue that holds them in place. It has a tendancy to
soften, and come loose in extreme heat. I used Krazy Glue to recover
my felt strips. worked like a charm on both doors, and with the door
trim next to the A pillars as well.

last 6 months, visit our website and join our club and newsgroup.

As a rough guide, depending how you do it etc. I recon you can turn Dollars
into Pounds ( sterling) by the time its here, running and ready for the
road, but more of course if it needs a lot of work.

The DeLorean Club of Ohio (DCO) is planning a day trip up to the 8th Annual Woodward Dream Cruise
this August 17th in Detroit Michigan. And we were wondering if any other D
owners/enthusiasts/clubs wanted to meet up with the DCO caravan.
For those who have never heard of this event it is an insanely huge gathering of all kinds of
autos that stretch for blocks upon blocks as far as the eye can see. The autos attending usually
include anywhere from Muscle, Model T's, Rods, Classic, to Exotics etc. et al. Being Detroit there
will be plenty of Muscle. You can check out the official website at http://www.dreamcruise.org/
right now it is still under construction but has the basic info up.
I will be putting more info about this event in the upcoming DCO newsletters as plans progress. I
will also post to the DML closer to the event. If your not in the DCO and plan on attending and

Marc,
As you know, I changed my 5 speed to an automatic.
The easy part is adapting the shifter. It is higher up on the stick and
lower on the automatic.
However, the frame mounts are a problem. The automatic brackets are
different from the stick . You would have to change these. Welding may
also be necessary. You could fabricate the backets yourself and weld
them on the frame. They were of the same thickness as the frame steel.

My washer does not work. The jet I discovered is also missing. Just
an open hose fitting at teh end of the line.

Have you just painted your De Lorean and your not getting the notoriety your
car once got when it was stainless? Have you ever stopped at a stop light
and not had anyone checking out the car with envy wishing they were you? If
you've answered yes to any of these two questions then I got the perfect
thing for you! Since I recently changed out my front brake pads on my car
since they squealed SOO badly, I now have them available to anyone who wants
to be noticed when they stop the car. These things work perfectly! Even
when the car is cold and you go to stop at the first stop sign in the
morning, they squeal instantly! Only one set available so please act now.
They are sure to go very fast. They include the pins clips and springs and
even dried up anti-squeal compound on the back of the pads for free!

Got your attention, didn't I?
I want to share some new knowledge on trunk lid adjustment and I am
looking for words of wisdom on door adjustment.
Thunk:
My trunk lid on my recently purchased #3302 didn't thunk or otherwise
pop-up the deck lid when the handle was pulled. Turns out that the
catch adjustment was as far adjusted as it could go, but that was
still not far enough. In my case, I had to remove the stationary
side of the hood latch and slightly elongate the bolt holes in the
base and the mechanism, so that the hood when closed would sit a
little lower. Now with a pull of the handle, the hood "thunks" up
just a bit. A little tug upwards on the hood and it gloriously
glides up. (new strut from Pep Boys.)
Foomp:
My passenger door, when closed from the outside with pressure from
the heel of my hand in the middle of the door, just above the rud-
strip "foomps" closed without interference from the door catch pins.
The driver's door requires considerably more effort to overcome the
last-nanosecond rub of the pins on the aluminum door guides. maybe
the door has gotten a bit askew over the past 21 years? I haven't got
any definitive recommendations for adjusting the door guide, pin,
etc., to make this door "foomp."
I want Factory Fresh FOOMP.
Anybody care to share their procedures?

I would disagree on the cost front - it's no longer true that you get hit by a large tax
bill when importing to the UK - the costs I paid are as follows:
$1250 shipping (including in-land transportation)
5% of purchase price and shipping cost in tax to HM C&E
£130 ish in port charges/paperwork etc.
£70 registration fee
£72 for a new pair of headlights

A previous poster suggested that i use a jumper wire to check to see if i had a bad cable. I have no clue where to jump from or too. My whole voltage problem was do to a larger pulley then i needed. Easy fix,a nd now i have plenty of power.

Hi All,
I have asked many questions of you all in the past couple of months
regarding my Delorean, but now i am at a crossroads. I have some
financial obligations that have put me in a position to think about
selling my car #2801. I figured i would see if any of you are
interested, as I do not want to sell this car, but may have to at
some point. Here are the stats, if interested email me personally.
1981 Delorean
has most upgrades and runs and looks great. No dings or dents, all
original except tires. Has AT, factory stereo/cassette, AC/ pwr
windows(they work), pwr locks(need work), interior is practically
perfect with no rips or tears. Car now has 21000 original miles and
is used as a daily driver. Just spent around $5000 on fuel system and
upgrades to solenoids/fuses,all struts replaced, etc.. I love this
car and anyone that takes her will too.she has both the guigario side
stripe as well as the grey/silver DMC racing stripe.If you are
