The bonnet is the large hinged flat thing forward of the windscreen. 
Seeing as "hood" usually refers to the bit above the engine, it isn't 
true of the DeLorean and many stateside have chosen to refer to the 
DeLorean's front flappy thing as a bonnet, as they are universally known 
outside of america
