I had to twist all of my nuts off until they popped. Some of them I had to cut. That sounds just like my car. One unique thing I found on mine was the stainless mounts on the back of each poontoon looked to have been worked by a hammer to shape around where the top and bottom half of the underbody meet. I assumed all of this was because mine is an early car or it was altered at some point. What you mentioned seems to show mine was original. Has anyone ever gone into the rear pontoons to remove the bolts that hold the stainless steel bracket to the closing panel, the fender, and the black mud guard (for the lack of a better word). Josh's car came from NY and the bracket was stainless, the bolts were stainless, the washers were stainless, but the nuts were plain old steel. They were actually so corroded that I had to cut them off. You haven't had any fun unless you got a Dremel tool inside the pontoon and tried to cut off a bolt!!! :-O Yea, I know, all the ML types out there have skinney little arms, but, gee whiz, shouldn't the nuts on the bolts have been stainless too?? Am I mistaken, or did the PO do a modification that just plain sucks?? Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Mike TPS 1630 [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] Yahoo!
