RE: [DMCForum] Black Vin plates

I thought they were just painted to reduce glare?  The paint on my dash
plate doesn't look very good and I considered removing it to see what is
underneath.

My 83 has a black vin plate... What was the story about these?  Anything
different or did it represent a KAPAC car?
