Yes, Joe, I agree. In fact one of the reasons I made so many good
friends in the DeLorean community was because of this forum. As John
said is a FORUM. And despite the fact that this is a forum, we are
being moderated so we should be backing up what we say, so here it is:
fo·rum ( P ) Pronunciation Key (fôrm, fr-)
n. pl. fo·rums, also fo·ra (fôr, fr)
The public square or marketplace of an ancient Roman city that was
the assembly place for judicial activity and public business.
A public meeting place for open discussion.
A medium of open discussion or voicing of ideas, such as a newspaper
or a radio or television program.
A public meeting or presentation involving a discussion usually among
experts and often including audience participation.
A court of law; a tribunal.
This is from dictionary.com and I see there "open discussion" and
it's PUBLIC. So that is what this is for. Come on moderators, what is
this about? Most of the members who voiced their opinion complained
about the fact that you are moderating a member. Be it Marc or
anybody else. I never met Ryan, but I know he is an intelligent guy
who has contributed to the list, but this is over the top. I met Greg
and he is a great guy and I am surprised he is backing up this
decision. And Marc is a very good friend, we always had intelligent
discussions and he is one of the people who will go out of his way to
help you. I admire him because he believes in what he believes and is
not a chicken to voice his opinion, I see that as a virtue because as
Erik pointed, Marc was always the same person.
But it doesn't matter how his character is or if any of us agree with
him, the point is that he is a member and it got started with him and
maybe I'll be the next one to be banned because I was always on the
non god worshiping side of the religious discussions (which were
always fun) and always on the liberal side of the political
discussions that were fun too. We are all intelligent adults able to
have conversations about any topic and holding a grudge against
someone you don't know, or even that you know jsut because I like
blue and such and such likes green is just plain stupid and we are
not in kidergarten anymore.
Why don't you guys just chill and let everyone have fun here. This is
entertainment, you are ruling freedom of speech. Isn't it so much
better to discuss with people who think different from you so you can
see other people's view points and learn from it?
I am sure that even if I didn't know Marc I'd be able to see his
point and the injustice that was practiced here. And really, as
Martin (another good friend) said, what is the point of all this BS?
And I don't care if Marc sent private messages to Ryan, if they were
private, then you 2 deal with it. I just want to see the forum
active, learn about all different kinds of things from members and
make new friends.
I don't even know who the moderators are here and I don't care, there
shouldn't be moderators, except to ban spammers. And rules? the DML
has rules so if you only want to talk about DeLoreans and you get
offended if someone thinks A and you think B, then don't read it! I
was tempted to create a DeLorean banned topics forum, but I don't
have the time to do that stuff, I also think it's pointless to make
1,000000000000... different lists for the same group of people, so
let us talk about everything here and be friends. Is that so hard?
My 2 cent........
Flavia
