OK, then no kickbacks for them.

1. Invent machine & build prototypes (this is the impossible part).

2. Spread the details into a couple hundred random, yet secure,
places. Safe deposit boxes at random banks. Long term storage lockers.
Homes of trusted people. Hired attorneys. Servers & private computer
systems. All with instructions to release the information to the
public upon your death or disappearance (in the case of servers, setup
a "dead man's switch" that will take action if you don't respond every
x days). Then patent. Further, setup a proper will & trust such that
your patents be released into the public domain upon your death,
disappearance, etc.

3. Quietly find private investors to fund production. Use a good deal
of that money to hire people who know what they're doing to setup
government deals in your favor - to get government officials with
power on your side. For example, if you're going to be providing a
large number of units to the military, it's unlikely government forces
in the pockets of the oil companies will destroy you.

4. Produce. Give away the first x units to high profile causes, media
celebrities, etc, such to go from obscure nobody to instant fame
nearly overnight.

5. Sell to everyone else.

What are they going to do? Have you killed? That wouldn't be in their
best interests now, would it? Destroy your company? Fine, I'll release
my patents & trade secrets and the world will know how to build the
devices for themselves.

I think you'll suddenly find these people playing ball on your terms.

BTW, it wouldn't bother me in the least if they killed me anyway.
Small price to pay for the privilege of liberating the world from
energy problems.

Of course, this entire discussion is pointless since I don't have such
a device nor, for that matter, do I even believe building one is
within the realm of known possibility... but it's a fun discussion
anyway. It's just my way of proving everyone who has ever claimed to
have developed such a device but been suppressed by "big oil" is
either stupid, a con, or both. It'd be so trivial to walk around these
people and make a big splash, I don't see how anyone with even a hint
of intelligence (and a working device) could possibly fail.
