It's really not worth trying to hook upa modern alternator to a 
DeLorean. I'm no expert on alternators but know what I've been told - 
that on a modern engines, the ECU controls the alternator hence all the 
extra wires.

We do a supoerb Valeo alt which uses just two control wires - and the 
same plug as the Ducellier. It's rated to 110A and requires no mods 
whatsoever apart from adding back in the ignition fed 12v the ducellier 
used. I'm going to hazard a guess that your alt needs 12v from an 
ignition fed source too
