Collapsing an air filter by the turbo(s) over spooling and sucking it in. I
have seen it happen in other applications.

Well that's exactly what the wastegate's for in the first place, so
holding it open manually should prevent the turbine doing much at all.
Collapsing the air filter?!
It'd be a frustratingly short journey on a trailer :-)
