My truck was pre-wired for satellite radio so all I had to do was choose
which receiver I wanted and plug it in.
I picked XM and got the first three months free and after that it is $9.99 a
month. Plus I get it free streaming over the web. If I drove just to and
from the office I probably wouldn't have it but I spend a lot of time
driving.
I have read about a few hacks to get it for free but why bother when it's
only $9.99 a month. I would never buy the year or lifetime subscriptions.
That is like buying pre-paid phone cards or coupon books. There is no
advantage to you, only them.

How's that work, subscription-wise? Do you have to pay the $12 a month
for every radio?
I've never considered satellite radio. I can't imagine paying $12 a
month just for the car; I'd like it at home, too. But I'm not pulling
some stupid receiver out of the car and dragging it into the house and
back and forth, etc. Too much hassle. If I could license x number of
unique receivers for the same flat price I might think about it.
