Well Erik you have one correct point there, I don't even look at what gas
costs, doesn't really affect my day. It might be $.99 or $13.99 outside, I
have no idea. When the car/truck needs gas I get some at the closest place
I can find. As for emissions the H2 is not tested so I don't even have the
numbers handy, but I am sure it is less than a badly tuned 1981 DeLorean, or
a 1988 Minivan, but you leave them alone huh? Actually it will be the
similar to a Corvette as it is a modified Corvette engine, or a GMC pickup,
as it is the same engine.
As for your education, I was referring to your education about the H2, not
your schooling. You don't seem to have any data to back up your concerns
about this vehicle. The only thing that it does is use more gas than other
vehicles, and it is a status symbol. Hell any vehicle that costs over
$60,000.00 will be a status symbol even if it got 100 MPG. I get an average
of about 12 MPG in our Hummer, but you see as I don't worry about the cost
of gas (knowing it will be gone sooner than later, my few extra gallons per
year is not going to make it happen any faster).
I go back to the same argument I have seen over and over again. People who
detest this type of car are usually the one who can't afford one and
therefore rationalizes how bad they are. Some people might look at it and
think it is a cool looking truck and it would be nice to have one, others
will look at it and say it is way to big for them but it is a nice car,
others, who I like to call Green Weenies, will look at it from their
electric cars munching on Tofu, listening to Enya, dressed in their best
Sunday Yuppie sweaters, living in their glass house telling everyone except
other Green Weenies how stupid they are.
See Erik you are missing a HUGE point. I got the Hummer because I wanted
to, for no other reason. I don't have to rationalize my purchase like you
do (good fuel efficiency, good mileage, economical, boring, just like
everyone else's), my wife said she liked them and would like one so I got it
for her. I could rationalize my purchases all day long, but I don't have
to.

I never questioned your education, please be an adult and don't question
mine.
My delorean doesn't polute the atmospher and guzzle as much gas as your
Hummer. I really hope you aren't one of the many people out there who
complains about gas prices...yet won't give up your status symbles.
Cars and trucks are needed in live. If I didn't have my cars my wife and
I wouldn't be able to work and support our family. But we have economic
cars that don't guzzle insane amounts of gas, yet still fit everything we
need in them. If you are using the hummer like a car...then you only
bought it for status. If you truely bought it for hauling things, then you
got taken because there are far better things out there for pulling than a
Hummer. Maybe not as stylish for your tastes though.
Its your money though. If you like to spend your money on such things,
thats great! Hey, i bought a delorean and have put far more into it than
its worth. You did the same for your Hummer ;)

No car, truck, or SUV is necessary. If you own anything better than a
horse or bicycle you own a useless waste of your money. A DeLorean?
Useless waste. It can only take 2 people so car pooling is not an option.
Grocery getting? Fraid not my friend, no room for a real load for the
family. Speaking of family. Unless you are single with GF or have no
kids, it is useless. Racing down the street? Sorry, underpowered.
Looking cool and making a statement? Righto my friend. Your DeLorean is
in the same category as the Hummers, status as much as functionality.

we taking this thing a little far? Texans give me a hard time for my
Ram and after a while it gets tiring, if I paid $20K-$60K for a Hummer
and a bunch of guys were dogging me for getting it I would be a little
bit offended.
Texans would have to see my truck to see what I mean. Arkansans love my
truck. It will be at DCS06 since I am most likely going to tow my
DeLorean up there, too many miles for me.
