RE: [DMCForum] Re: DMCH in latest issue of Forbes...

I think it's important to keep in mind what type of magazine this is.
Forbes is geared towards business minded people and so the article was
written that way.  If Blue Shop Towel Quarterly, now registered by the way
:) , had written an article on them it would have been completely different.

Personally I thought the article was very nicely done, and fairly impressive
to get into Forbes.  From a business perspective, it is a huge gamble to get
into a product that most everyone else has already been convinced it is
crap, and try to make something out of it.  In general, it is much easier to
start fresh with a new name and product than to try and resurrect one that
is already tarnished.

Ahh... looking at that wall of engines makes me feel like I was just there a
few months ago swimming in the humidity. :)

Hi guys,

Well, I just read the article in Forbes magazine.

I have never been to DMCH or DMCF, or have any experience with them as far
as service.  I will just purely comment on the article itself.  I somewhat
didn't like the way the article was written; to me, it just seemed amateur.
It concentrated mainly on how the company's founder managed to get a bunch
of cheap parts, and is now making a killing.  Well, i see nothing wrong with
that; he had a vision and took advantage of it.  Wal-mart does the same
thing.  It's not like these cars are rolling out of the assembly line brand
new anymore... theoretically, DMCH's supply of restorable assets are
diminishing.

I wish the article had gone more into what were DMCH's future plans..
besides the engine upgrade, and more about the company's financial history
throughout the years.

Well, i suppose DMCH is a major player in keeping Deloreans alive.. I guess
that's all that matters in the end.

i doubt anyone is afraid of anyone or any vendor out there.  Most probably
just don't speak up because they don't want to be embarrased or feel
uncomfortable at the next car show.

No one was afraid of Joe that I am aware of.

So let me rephrase that - is ANYONE afraid of ANY vendors?  Please
contact me.  I am just interested in seeing if Marc's statement is
indeed accurate, because I have never heard of anyone being afraid of a
vendor.

Or, if you follow Marc's self-fulfilling prophecy of sorts, no one will
respond because they are afraid to.  I don't buy that either, but it's a
very convenient debate tactic. "If no one speaks up, then I am right"...

How many YEARS did it take to get the real story on
DMC Joe??

Maybe it is more people are afraid to say something
bad about any vendor... Or anyone they see as "having
respect" in the community.

.... And I find it hard to believe anyone would ADMIT
to being afraid, or having some other reason not to
speak out on something they feel is wrong.
