[DMCForum] Village Idiot Returns -- I'm Still Here

Just received an eMail asking if I was still alive, still an owner, etc.

I am, and I am. Am using the DeLo for transportation to the university
because it's the only tagged vehicle equipped with air conditioning.
Hopefully no one will mess with it in the parking lot (attracts more
attention than I'm comfortable with).

All other days I'm living out of the trucks. Am absolutely killing
myself building furniture for the expanded EC program at church. Was
helping with building renovations too, but that was before I became a
full time cabinet maker (volunteer, of course).

Lost interest in the Forum when everyone jumped all over my case for
mentioning the simplicity of carburetion, then wee wee'd all over
themselves regarding diesel injection for that exact same reason
(simplicity). Now I see that everyone has lost interest in converting
their DeLo's to diesel in favor of electrification. Please...

Not that it matters to anyone, but my carbureted little silver car
continues to perform flawlessly. No hot start issues. No hot gasoline
issues. No melting headlight switch. Is still dented & dirty (sans
functional angle drive), but has yet to miss a beat. All I do is add
gas and drive.

Oh -- my replacement DMCH door strut FINALLY showed up, so I can now
transport a passenger. Did have to disassemble and rig a repair for
the passenger seat belt retractor. The design really isn't very good
-- hope one day to swap them out for old Ford units.
