A truck can be used for much more than just hauling. Since I've
dropped insurance on the Lincolns, mine are daily transportation.
I think that's the problem with contemporary trucks -- they emulate
passenger cars now to satisfy newby drivers unwilling to put up with
things like I-Beam suspensions, cozy wings, bench seats, single piece
dashes, etc. My concern is the pleasantries will not put up with
punishment over the years. The reason you see so many F-100's still on
the road is because they were built to be indestructible (and to a
lesser degree the old Chevy C Series). Does anyone really expect to
see a 2005 model pickup on the road in the year 2035? The damndest
thing will be if some of those old F-100's are STILL in use then.
