I am not sure if I understand the question, but would say that no, twice the
price does not necessarily mean twice as good.  I just checked and with the
exchange rate, if I bought a Corvette over there it would cost me about
$92,000 USD.  Here, the same car would be about $52,000 USD.

One of the Top Gear episodes pitting the Ferrari 360 CS against the Porsche
911 GT3 RS is a very good example of paying more doesn't get you more.

The Mercedes SLR, however, is faster-acting than Viagra. :)

I was thinking more along the lines of the car still being in warranty, and
voiding that if I worked on it myself.  If I purchased one out of warranty
then it wouldn't be an issue.

That doesn't bother me; I would like to see it!  That show is very
refreshing I think.  They weren't very nice about the Maserati Quattroporte
of the Rolls-Royce Phantom, either. :)

Yep, that's it.  On the test track, which was an airplane runway, they kept
running out of road before they ran out of throttle.  To quote Clarkson,
"it's absolutely brutal!"  It also has an American Ford V-8. :)

I wonder if the same body design was ever used in the US market?  The Nissan
240SX, maybe?

Here is the Infiniti G-35.
