Retorts I use for the flux capacitor:

"That's funny, I haven't been asked that since tomorrow." 
(only a select few actually get it and laugh)

"That's an expensive aftermarket item, this car is stock"
(yep, and some people believe me, especially when they see it as an option on my
Photoshoped window sticker along with the Wilson hover conversion & Mr. Fusion)

(if they are looking in the car when they ask me)
"Where was it in the movie?" (they point to where it was, and I continue) "not
there, is it?"

I'll tell you what does get irritating is the constant BTTF jokes.
Everyone thinks they're _so_ original asking about the flux capacitor.
I don't want to be a jerk but I almost can't help it when these clowns
pose this question. I like to answer with a question of my own, "Do
you know you're the third person to ask me that today?" I haven't
quite made it to, "It's not f***ing real, deal with it, idiot", but
I'm slowly getting there.
