Bill,
On my trip from OH to GA last weekend I drove 75mph (29k rpm) on the way to
Atlanta and got 26.83 mpg, 26.69 mpg and 26.14 mpg.
On the way back to Ohio I averaged 80mph with a few hours of 90-95mph and about
20min of 105mph. I got 26.72 mpg and 26.99 mpg.
95% of my trip was on I-75 in 5th gear.
Added weight in car:
- 2 adults (180 & 120 lbs)
- trunk full with wife's scrapbooks, one tiny tool box, backpack full of clothes
- one "carry on" suitcase full of clothes & makeup on back shelf
- 2 pillows & one small blanked on back shelf
Non-stock mods to my car that may or may not have an effect on MPG:
- front end lowered to designers intent
- heat stove & valve removed, replace with the red/orange bendable racing ducting
You may not believe me so, like Rich, I will extend an offer for you to travel
with me some time, you don't have to be tied up if you don't want to ;-)
