Dave -

Yeah, it's nice. I run a couple of forums myself (one phpBB, one
ikonboard that needs to be migrated to phpBB). The problem isn't
hosting the forum or taking care of it, it's getting enough people to
agree to move. If I setup a forum and this mailing list still exists,
it's just going to further splinter the community. I've said before,
the only way I'd go through with this is if the owners of this forum
agreed to shut down the Yahoo group and "officially" say, "The
DMCForum is now over here, this one will no longer accept messages."
