Thanks for the good words Bob.. There are few people who can relate to what it takes to successfully complete a project like this, and you are one of them. I have no experience doing fabrication or machining, and have no problem paying a professional $75 an hour (or more) to do good work. The problem I have found is that most of these guys are NOT professional. Jessie James and the likes make it worse. It is now "cool" to be an unprofessional egotistical fabricator. Somehow, they get away with it even if they are not talented. I see the same thing in my profession (computers)..... But, You know I wish that I had Jessie?s girl! Going with the Porsche transmission will hopefully eliminate the need to have custom tight-tolerance fabrication done.
