October 2004 National average for gasoline was $1.993,
with a crude oil price of high of $54.45 a barrel.

Current national average of $2.228, with crude oil at
about the same level it was October 2004.
Yeah...it's getting expensive stupid. I have seen $3.00 here in Wash DC on 
Wisconsin Ave.
