That's good, because I don't run my servers in my basement. It's a
fully hosted solution in a managed data center with unbelivable
bandwidth (I think they have an OC-192).

Over the past year Yahoo has been down more times than I have.

I won't decide I don't want to be bothered with it anymore. If
something were to happen and I was unable to continue hosting it, I'd
help the owners move it to another server. Other than a brief
disruption of service while DNS switched over, nobody would even
notice. Or if that's a concern Walt could get his own server. It's a
whopping $20 a month and I'll offer to do the config.

Or don't. I suppose it doesn't really matter. I just hate public
lists, with the ads and the various BS you have to put up with.

Yeah, I wasn't saying we should all move there. I was saying we should
use a similar software format.

Right, so why not combine the two? You have to err on the side of one
or the other, but:

1. Run a list with a decent web interface, or,
2. Run a board with a decent email interface.

Yahoo is an OK email list with annoying ads and a terrible web
interface. Google is more of the same (not sure about ads yet).
