Lincoln isn't bad for light duty ocassional use, but I haven't been
really impressed with how they holdup. My MIG is a Lincoln and the fan
bearings died once (at about 2 years), the wire feed wheel wore too big
a grove and didn't grab the wire (about 2.5 years), and the wire feed
control only has 1 speed (at about 3 years). The other thing I don't
like is the lines they ship with the machine are way too short and you
have to keep moving the unit around if you are working on any somewhat
large.
For welders I prefer Miller and ESAB for plasma. I have a Miller
Dynasty 200DX and love it. You can just plug it into any power supply u
want 120VAC single phase all the way to 460VAC three phase. For TIG @
150A its rated 60% duty cycle, the duty cycle does change slightly with
the power you plug into but it doesn't go down.
