Eventually the bulb will burn out. Until then think of it as a light
letting you know the engine is there purring away quite happily. You
haven't run into any Krikkit robots have you? They might have stolen your
engine to free their creators.

My 89 Ranger did the same thing. I determined what the problem was, it
was that my piece of electrical tape fell of where it covered the check
engine light. I replaced the piece of electrical tape over the check
engine light and now the check engine light stays nice and dark.
