I'd have to side with John Dore on this one.

I have read his autobiography, and in it he clearly states that on that 
day he knew what he was getting into but was too afraid for his own life 
to back out at that point.  I honestly believe that he had no intentions 
of making it out of that meeting in room 501 alive.  I have never heard 
anyone credible claim anything about any drug habits of John DeLorean. 
To say so is irresponsible and misinformative, IMHO.  The fact of the 
matter (from his words) is that desperation to save his company *was* 
what got him involved with the "shady" types (who ended up being FBI 
agents and informants), but that desperation turned to fear for his life 
when drugs and crime came directly into involvement.  I believe he hated 
the fact that he was involved in the deal, but saw no option to avoid it.

He readily admits all of this in his autobiography "DeLorean".  And for 
Marc, there were several audio tapes and written logs of conversations 
the FBI agents had with JZD that turned up either missing, incomplete or 
doctored, and therefore not credible.
