I wasn't the one who said it was an invasion of privacy. I just said I
don't want people knowing who I am and how to find my house with a
fairly detailed map showing the way. A satellite picture is not an
address, which can be confusing, it's a map showing everything you
could see if you were in that spot. I don't care if people look at my
house (or else I wouldn't have put up the picture of it, obviously), I
just don't want people knowing too much about me. As I said, there's
really no point in me even saying anything because 1. my information
is already out there and 2. it's not like I could prevent anything
from happening by not signing my emails. It's a very useless habit.
And for the record: No, I'm not seriously worried that some random
person is going to track me down and come to my house. I'm just
acknowledging the possibility, the same way I acknowledge the
possibility that I could be run over by a car today or fall over and
break my neck tomorrow.
It probably stems from the childhood experience of having 'don't tell
strangers anything' beaten into my brain daily for about a year.
Kindergarten is so cruel..
I'll probably break the habit of not signing emails if/when I go to a
meet or something and/or when I get my D.
