Mark,
The DeLorean cooling fan system is somewhat different than in many other
cars in that voltage going to the fan circuit is supplied from the accessory
circuit therefore when the key is turned to the off position the fans cannot
run. One exception to this is in the Fanzilla which has a delay circuit that
will allow the fans to run for a couple of seconds after the key is turned
to the off position.
I am not completely familiar with John Hervey's Fan Fix circuitry so as the
original post reads we should leave this for John to answer.

Shut the A/C off before turning the car off and the fans will turn off
too. This happened to me once. Everything should always be shut off in
any car when you turn off the ignition.
