I guess I used the wrong term. My neighbors swore they would move to Canada
if Bush was elected. I offered to help, and encouraged them to follow
through with their convictions... They may have considered it harassment --
I considered it helping them follow through with their plans. What's wrong
with that?
I guess I could have gone out on a limb and sworn I would move to Canada if
Gore or Kerry won, but I didn't believe that would have been the end of the
world, because it would not have been. These people who claim they are
going to move to [insert country here] if their chosen candidate does not
win are, let's face it, taking things to the extreme. The fact that none of
them have followed through with it shows, in my eyes, a total lack of
conviction.
Especially bad in this respect are the Democrat-supporting celebrities who
have a habit of making (empty) threats to leave should the election not go
their way. Robert Redford vowed to move to Ireland. He's still here. Alec
Baldwin and Kim Basinger made the Canada vow, but later denied they said it.
They're still here.. Many were offered free plane tickets, but still
wouldn't follow through.
According to a google search, the only Democrat I could find who did move
was Pierre Salinger (White House press secretary during Kennedy era).
Before the 2000 election, he said: "If Bush wins, I'm going to leave the
country and spend the rest of my life in France." He did. But pretty much
he went there because he was dying and that's where his hospital was. (Like
Arafat I guess).
Anyone know of any others?

No Dave, it is you who continue to LAUNCH personal
attacks against me.. This is the first time I have
responded in a like manor.. Not very well I might
add, because it is out of character for me.
Yes, it offends me that you would go to any effort to
harass your neighbor.. Your motivation seems to be one
of "I told you so".... Something I hope I NEVER have
an opportunity to say to you. Even though I think
your wrong, I hope your right!
