RE: [DMCForum] Shenanigans?

Yes, I understand that it can be set up that way.  Reading your
interpretations of everything about this is like reading conspiracy theory;
there is someone around every corner out to get you no matter what.

Don't you think that if someone actually wanted to do this it would have
been much better, and probably wouldn't be questioned, to have the screen
show what the voter was actually doing and what they wanted to see when they
confirmed, and have the box send the "preferred" vote so no one knew?  That
would make more sense if they were really trying to skew the election.

I have been looking for an article that talks about
mistakes on the electronic machines where someone
voted for Kerry by mistake.

Anyone who has done any software development will
realize it takes one line of code to skew the results.
Add some randomization in it, and it looks less
suspicious.

The video poker machines are programmed to look ahead
in the deck, and dump the "winning card" on a
semi-random basis.  This allows the casinos to control
how often a machine pays out..  Of course, the guys
that wrote this software are all dead now.
