[DMCForum] Re: Platinum Plugs

Dave - I was running a set of AC Delco plugs in an old Chevy truck
that I used to own.  I kinda forgot about doing a tune up on it
because I had converted it to electronic ignition, and it just
seemed to go forever.  The engine started to run a little rough at
about 45,000 miles on the plugs, so I pulled them out to have a
look.  Four of the plugs were MISSING the center electrode.  The
things had burned completely away to only a porcelain shell.  I
couldn't believe that the engine could still run basically on four
cylinders.  Unbelievable.  To get 140K out of a set of plugs is
astonishing.  That has got to be some kind of record for the older
technology.

In regards to Juley ... Yep ... she's a keeper.

(That just amazes me, but I have every reciept since new and it has
never had a tune-up nor plugs.) I saved them, and Juley said she's
going to make some kind of 'miracle spark plug' display for them.
Ya' gotta love a girl who thinks like that.
