Lauren,

why did you almost fall off your chair?

I have a Hummer version of the light.  It does not have a mode where the 
light is  off even if the door is open.

I was wondering if anyone else has experience with this Hummer thing.

Joe may be right that it's easier to just buy Houston's replacement but I 
have been known to spend lots of time and effort on a project just for the 
learning experience....
