The throttle plates open up, manifold vacuum drops, need I say more?
(That's fuller to full throttle in my book).
Using manifold vacuum to measure throttle plate activation is hardly a
new a new concept. Engine manufacturers were doing it more than half a
century ago. And what do you suppose drove all that Rube Goldberg crap
American manufacturers overlayed their engines with in the 1970's? As
manifold vacuum dropped, indicating the car was no longer idling in
California traffic, everything that wasn't nailed down was thrown into
the engine (EGR, gas tank vapors, carb bowl vapors) and the smog pump
was turned loose on the exhaust.
I'm beginning to think that if I merely mention peas and carrots you'd
complain I wasn't using the proper terms "legumes" and "umbella". Urp?
