Had I not recently moved to Fl I would not find that as funny as I do.
Being in the Auto Scrap Business I see tons of Cubans and Mexicans in my
travels selling all sorts of junk.  To be honest I have noticed some
cheapness in the older Dodge Trucks in and around those areas you mentioned.
In fact an ex-employee killed 3-4 center arm rests due to his weight (I am
big but he was quite a bit bigger lol).

I believe Chrysler on a whole is about my fav for interior quality, followed
closely by Ford and a far distant Chevy (of the big 3).  I was amazed to see
the "brand" new Avalanche interior almost identical to the 2000 Silverado we
had at work.

Well, this IS Miami.  It was Carlos' Auto Broker (Bubba's cuban cousin). 
Of course, there is no warranty.  And obviously, I didn't buy it.  I'm
not saying every dodge truck will have broken hinges, but from what I
saw, these seemed particularly flimsy (read, broken).  How much use does
the glove box get, really?
