Traditional method: stand off to one side and watch the belt as it spins.

PRV has a machined face for the timing chain cover. Is exposed on both
sides down by the oil pan. That's the reference point I used for
measurements to relocate my motor mounts. You could do the same in the
other direction to crank and alternator pulleys.

Seem to remember the machined face is also exposed somewhere near
water jacket return hoses.
