Misha - The Lockzilla unit is designed to protect the solenoids by
supplying them with a better, more stable source of power (some of
the electrical wizards can chime in any time). If I recall, that is
the "mission statement" for the Lockzilla that is spelled out on the
Zilla website. So, if you get rid of the solenoids, you no longer
have to provide stable-power protection for them. The alarm system
that we are going to incorporate into our Deluxe and Elite units has
a stand-alone alarm siren. An available option is a siren with a
built-in battery backup so that the alarm will still have a power
supply, even if the power to the alarm control box is somehow cut.
