[DMCForum] Would you put Hussein back in power?

To those of you whining about Iraq: If you had the power, today, to
put Saddam Hussein back in power, would you do so? If not, then we
agree that good has been done here.

Hussein tortured and murdered his citizens. Athletes that didn't
perform. People who disagreed with him. He was known to cut people up
into little pieces and send their remains in small boxes to their
families. While his people lived in poverty, many dying for lack of
common medical treatments, Hussein lived in luxurious palaces. When
his forces invaded Kuwait, they openly raped women in the streets.
Hussein supported terrorism by paying money to the families of
homocide bombers as a reward. The more people you killed by blowing
yourself up, the more money your family would get. Especially if you
killed certain types of people, such as Israelis, or Americans.

Taking this madman out of power was a good thing. That said, we need
to pull out of Iraq and be done with it as soon as possible. The
longer we stay, the worse this situation becomes.

Furthermore: Saddam's removal from power was of his own undoing. Had
he cooperated with weapons inspectors, he would still rule Iraq. I
love how the press trumpets "No WMDs in Iraq!". We had ample evidence
to invade this country. Have you read any of the reports from the U.N.
weapons inspectors? Every time they tried to inspect a facility, they
were given the runaround, made to wait for hours while people moved
things around in the buildings, etc. Hussein was playing games with
them. Whether WMDs existed or not is immaterial: He gave us plenty of
reason to believe they did, refused to cooperate, and openly
threatened us and our allies, calling for our destruction. 

If you put your finger inside your jacket, pretend it's a gun, and
threaten a police officer, he's going to shoot you. I think everyone
here would support that officer's actions. Why, then, do you not
support our president's actions when Hussein plays the same game?
