If you have efficient speakers, you don't need to pump a lot of wattage
into them. (Klipschorns, for example, run on 100 watts continuous, 400
watts peak, and they're HUGE.)

Make sure the voice coils are tough enough to do what you want, and that
the domes and cones are made of good material. The more efficient the
speakers are, the happier you'll be with them. Cross them over where you
need to.

And you won't have to install an even bigger alternator. ;)
