Oh, then I guess that radio report I heard some time ago got muddled
in my head. Perhaps they were thinking of doing such a thing and all I
heard was the news story with people discussing it ... that's one of
the problems I have with the news ... they give you the beginning of
the story and not the end!
 
So, are there self-serve filling stations in New Jersey? How do they
enforce the law? Anybody ever been fined or jailed? Just curious.
Around here, a full-service gas station is a rare thing. The only one
left in my neighborhood got rid of their pumps and turned into a
full-time shop. Which is handy since it's within walking distance and
the clerk there is quite a friendly gal. :)
 
But enough about me.

Living in NJ, I can tell you it is still a law..  And
as of 4/2003 when I was in Oregon, it was too.
