Hey Walt, when will you be appearing at the Chuckle Hut or the Laugh
Factory? I see you've been polishing your stand-up. :)

Subject: Re: [DMCForum] evaporator hell was... evaporator is back out
Over the weekend, I have removed 3 evaporators from
DeLoreans. None of them are to my liking. The last one is
useable, but the air passage ways are clogged with hair,
dirt & rat turds. I'll use it as a last resort. This
afternoon I'm going to tackle yet another car and see if
that one is any good. Then believe it or not, I'm out of
cars.
There is a parts cross-reference rumor that the DeLorean's
evaporator is the same as a Merkur XR4TI or Scorpio. I
talked to "Bobby" at Stadium Lincoln Mercury who has been
working for Lincoln Mercury dealerships for over 25 years as
a specialist in AC & electronics. I showed him a DeLorean
evaporator and asked if he had seen one before. His answer,
"Of course. It's an evaporator." But seriously, does it
fit anything you've worked on before? "No." He says that
both models of Merkur use the same evaporator and they are
of the longer & thinner variety like is used in an
under-the-dash aftermarket unit.
So scratch that one off of your cross-reference lists along
with the Lotus Esprit windshields. Where do these rumors
get started anyway?
Walt
P.S. Hey did you hear that DMCH is making new DeLoreans from
scratch? ;-)
