Gary, I got a question for you...

I was topping off a system from a small can of R-134a when
suddenly the low side gauge started going too high.  My
knee-jerk reaction was to duck in the car & shut the engine
off before something got out of hand.  I checked everything
over and noticed I had the high side valve open.  Doh!  Upon
reflection of my stupidity, I started contemplating what
pressure it would take before one of those small cans
explode in my face.  So I look at my low side manifold gauge
and notice that the upper end has an area designated
"RETARD".  I laughed my ass off.  Yeah, if I let it get that
high then I'm definitely a retard.  So what is "retard"
really supposed to mean?
