Fast idle valves, technically known as "auxiliary air valves" were
used before CIS. Stock location is same place as the idle speed motor.
I was using a BMW model, mounted on the driver's pontoon with hoses
to/from the engine for better access to the distributor and spark plug #4.
PRV aux air valves are closed by an electrically warmed spring. My BMW
model used a solenoid. Still clicks very softly, but does not close
anymore. Will hopefully be a moot point after my engine swap.
