Gentlemen,

The bearing is the source of the noise. It is indeed, getting louder. 
I hear it when I spin the wheel. It has a small amount of play.

I am on my way to the post office to get the one I had mailed here. I 
will attempt to repair it tonight, but don't hold your breath. If I 
can't, I'm just going to accept the fact that the car is not ready 
for a trip of this length just yet.

Samuel, I truly apologize for the hassle you've gone through 
arranging vacation and fed-ex'ing parts. If it's any consolation, 
I've also P'd away about 175$ on shipping alone trying to get ready 
for this.
