You know, I've always wondered why people haven't tried doing a Renault 310/Alpine tranny conversion since the 310 was rear engined like the DeLorean, and in theory it would be an "easy" swap. Or are these cars so rare it's not an option? I know I've personally never even seen one of the cars for sale anywhere. There still remains the problem with the Lotus gearbox in that the Esprit is a mid engined car.
