If you search the web for oil filter study you will come across a couple really good ones. From my own research I stay away from all WIX brands due to the lack of drain back valves, and the lower filter material quality. And I run every time someone suggests using any FRAM. I had two fram extra guard filter elements collapse on my Z and blocked all oil flow into the engine. My first oil filter was a "Wix" brand that was a freebie from John Hervey. I am now running the Purflux that supposedly has this check-valve in it. I did observe a rubber membrane over the circulation holes that the Wix brand filter did not have. That's very interesting to know. --- In DMCForum@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx, "Andrei Cular" <acular@xxxx> wrote: > Rattle on startup has as much to do with the filter as it does the oil.
