My oil change interval (all vehicles) is 2,500 miles. An oil change is any car's easiest, least expensive, and most important procedure. Think about it: oil touches nearly every moving part in engine. Is only $7-$10 in parts and 20 minutes labor (don't even have to jack the truck up, which is pushing 200,000 miles BTW -- don't tell timely oil changes aren't worth time or money). Question isn't "why change oil frequently?", is "why not?" According to Volvo literature: Except for larger bore, B27 and B28 internally identical, INCLUDING IMFAMOUS OIL PASSAGES. Reason they clog up is people running crappy solidified oil. Nothing at all wrong with PRV camshafts if they receive proper lubrication. Plenty of Volvo 260's with 6 digits on odometer.
