Jim: I dunno. I didn't actually read the column. I prefer the radio show - it's more fun. :) BTW, when did it stop being called "Emergency Brake" and change to "Parking Brake"? Is this because it's no use as an emergency brake? Or has it always been either depending upon one's mood? Is "Parking Brake" or "Emergency Brake" an official designation, or is it modern slang like "hand brake" that most people I know say (even if it's not hand-operated)? Is there a variant depending upon the manufacturer? I wonder what the DMC manuals call the hand brake. Just curious. I call mine the "parking brake" and never use it unless I'm parked. I suspect that is all it's good for. Farrar Jim Strickland wrote: > Column should be renamed "Wrong & Wronger".
