I have found several of these broken in my car.  Newer cars have a little
oblong slit, along with the fir tree hole, that allows you to remove and
replace damaged ones without having to remove the leather covering.  I am
going to try and duplicate this on the ones I have to replace. Maybe all
of
them since they are so brittle.
