>Maybe you found a hidden kill switch for that alarm you have installed. If your alarm has a key fob, this could be a valet switch for the alarm. If your alarm is from that era then most likely it will not have a key fob and that switch would activate the alarm, but allow a specific amount of time for entry and egress before sounding off. This is just a guess of course, but since your alarm light was installed on the center console the brain will probably be close by and thus why the switch is close as well.
